The SCW all-member virtual meeting will take place Wednesday, May 29 from 1:00-3:00 PM. The meeting will include updates on state quality initiatives and a surgeon expert panel.

New Ways to Engage: Quality Initiative Steering Committee

SCW welcomes the newly formed Quality Initiative Steering Committee (SC) led by Associate Director, Elise Lawson, MD, MSHS.

Accreditation & Certification Opportunities

The SCW Coordinating Center is working with several certification and accreditation organizations to accept participation in SCW quality improvement activities as a way to meet surgeon requirements.

Telehealth

SCW is excited to announce the start of a new series of collaborative learning teleconferences, SPOTS: Safer Prescribing of Opioids after Trauma and Surgery.

SCW will be visiting surgeons at Marshfield Clinic, Howard Young Medical Cneter, SSM St. Mary’s and the Aurora/Advocate Executive Surgery Council to present quality initiative updates and deliver performance reports.

Policy News

Congress recently passed The SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (H.R. 6). SCW has been collaborating with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and we hope to offer support while the legislation is being implemented.
