Late in 2018, Congress passed The SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (H.R. 6). This legislation includes Medicare, Medicaid, and public health reforms to combat the opioid crises by improving prevention, advancing treatment and recovery initiatives, protecting communities, and increasing efforts to combat illicit synthetic drugs. SCW is pleased to identify several sections of the Act related to our Opioid Quality Initiative. We have been collaborating with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), who are responsible for implementing these sections, and we hope to offer support and expertise as the legislation is implemented.
